What Hayward Thinks Of Piven
I wish Helen Lawson, the character played by Susan Hayward in “Valley of the Dolls” and whose video clip I’ve posted above, were still around to stick it to Jeremy Piven, who was let off the hook today by an arbitrator. Piven was the schmuck who bowed out of a Broadway production late last year of Mamet’s “Speed-the-Plow.” Piven claimed a medical condition: mercury poisoning, which everyone associated with the production thought was bogus beyond belief. He may have won his suit, but he’d better not come back to Broadway anytime soon.
