Mamet To Remake “Anne Frank”
David Mamet will write and direct a new screen version of “The Diary of Anne Frank.” It’s an intriguing choice. Over the past decade, Mamet has been rediscovering his Jewishness in a sometimes thoughtful, sometimes obnoxious way. Will the evolution of his thinking affect how he does “Anne Frank,” or will the story (and the Frank estate) dictate that he be a strict interpreter?
