NY Film Fest Reveals Lineup
The New York Film Festival, unspooling Sept. 25 to Oct. 11, has announced its lineup. Per usual, there’s lots of stuff from Cannes, but what struck me right away is that there’s also something (“Push”) from Sundance. I can understand why the fest wants to give “Push” a push before it’s released, but there’s something in principle a little stale about featuring a film eight months after it’s been shown at another major festival. The rest of the roster looks like a great mix of global cinema.
