Classical music festivals in Europe and Japan have been using Jumbotron screens for years, so it’s a little weird that when the Ravinia fest in Chicago started using them recently there was any controversy about them at all. If you want concert-hall intimacy, go to a concert hall. Large-scale estival gatherings need new technology.
