“Hung, “Blood,” “Ent.” Renewed
HBO performed a hat trick Thursday afternoon, picking up all three series currently on the air — “True Blood,” “Entourage” and frosh skein “Hung” — for another year. “The size of these shows have broken into the popular culture in a way we haven’t seen in a while,” said HBO co-president Richard Plepler. Oh really? Among my friends and family — a group that covers all age groups and diverse backgrounds — the only one of the those series I hear mentioned is “True Blood.” When anyone does reference “Entourage,” it’s to say how tired it’s become. And “Hung” is considered a coy joke. But I guess enough yahoos are tuning in to justify HBO’s decision.
