Monstrous Beauty: Tim Burton’s Art
The Museum of Modern Art in New York is hosting a major Tim Burton retrospective later this year. From his early childhood drawings to blockbuster Hollywood projects, such as “Edward Scissorhands” and “Mars Attacks!” (pictured), MOMA will bring together hundreds of never-before-seen paintings, sculptures, and puppets from the artist’s own collection. Preview works from the exhibition, which will run from 22 November 2009 until 26 April 2010, are shown here. As far as I can tell, there’s nothing in the show from “Sweeney Todd.”
