Helmut Newton’s Fantasy World
Before I worked with photographer Helmut Newton in the 1990s, I didn’t know what to expect. His hard-edged photos of slutty looking models and cold sexual poseurs suggested someone who snapped his pics in between getting pleasured. Not at all: the Newton I worked with was well-dressed, courtly, and loved to laugh. And married for a long time to his wife, June. There’s a new exhibition of Newton’s work in Berlin.
