Goog’s 50th Anniversary Show
I popped my head into the Guggenheim Museum the other day. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Frank Lloyd Wright’s modern masterpiece, the museum is highlighting works chosen by its first curator, James Sweeney, who famously battled Wright over the building’s design. The exhibition was worth the time, but I can never go past the place without thinking that to me it looks like a toilet but to collector Peggy Guggenheim the place was “that parking garage on Fifth Avenue.”
