Leno’s Last Show: Unmemorable
Jay Leno‘s last show (last night) offered no teary moments for the record books, the way that Bette Midler did when she serenaded previous “Tonight Show” host Johnny Carson at his farewell in 1992. Instead, Leno brought out his replacement, Conan O’Brien, whose smart-ass, self-deprecating style is universes removed from Leno’s brand of middle-America humor. I watched about half the Leno swan song, before drifting off: why stay up when Leno will have a new NBC show in the fall?
