Springsteen Closes Giants Stadium
Bruce Springsteen (pictured) and the E Street Band will play Giants Stadium in New Jersey for three nights on September 30 and October 2-3. More importantly, these dates will be the last live performances the venue will see before it is torn down to make way for the Giants’ new $1.3 billion stadium. While the kick-off of what may be Springsteen’s last stint with E Street is news enough, I am more amazed at the construction of another New York sports stadium. I don’t know where the money is coming from to produce 3 new stadiums in under two years, but I know where the money could go, and it seems wasteful to me when a recession is hurting everyone else.
