Voice of Mickey Mouse Has Died

allwine385_560464adisney385_415467aWayne Allwine (pictured) has been the voice of everyone’s favorite big-eared mouse, Mickey Mouse (also pictured), for 32 years. He passed away Monday from diabetes. Allwine is only the third person to voice the character after Walt Disney himself and Jimmy MacDonald (no relation). He took on the job in 1977 and voiced the mouse is such great Disney films as “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” and non-Disney films like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”. He is survived by his wife, Russi Taylor, a famous voice over actress, who, in a cute and ironic (or not so ironic) twist of fate, has voiced the character of Minnie Mouse since 1986. Our sympathies to Mickey’s widow.
