Roberto’s Dante Comes To U.S.
Remember Roberto Benigni? Of course you do. His sprint through the seat-tops to collect his 1999 Oscar for Best Actor was one of the Academy Awards all-time greatest moments. Anyway, Benigni is about to make his U.S. stage debut — with “TuttoDante” (Everything About Dante), a one-man show in which the popular Italo multihyphenate recites and ingeniously expounds verse from Dante Alighieri’s “Divine Comedy.” Roberto’s description: “I feel it’s sort of like Jim Carrey coming to Rome to recite Walt Whitman.”
