Scott Thomas To Do “Night Music”
The other day I told you that Leslie Caron was to play Madame Armfeldt in a Paris production of “A Little Night Music” slated for February at the Chatelet theatre. Now, the New York Daily News reports that Kristin Scott Thomas (pictured) will be joining the production, which will be sung in English, even though both Caron and Scott Thomas are French/English bilingual. Kristin didn’t specify which role she’ll be playing, but I doubt it’s Anne (i.e it’s Desiree). I’m only sorry that Kristin won’t be doing Desiree in the upcoming Broadway production, imported from London. Her performance in last fall’s “The Seagull” in New York was splendid, and criminally overlooked for Tony consideration.
