A Feet Friendly Times Square
Both Times Square (pictured) and Herald Square will soon be undergoing a major adjustment, the closure of the two popular locations to traffic. I can’t believe it either, but Broadway will be closed to traffic from 47th to 42nd Street in Times Square and also from 35th to 33rd Street in Herald Square. The change will take place in 5 days and crews have already begun tearing up traffic islands. The experiment will re-route a few buses and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I am excited to see what happens, though I am not certain if claims that traffic will move faster on 6th and 7th avenues aren’t just wishful thoughts.
