Rocco Nommed To Head NEA
Producer Rocco Landesman (pictured), who is President of Jujamcyn Theaters, has been nominated as the next Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. An official announcement is expected today. Congress must first confirm Landesman’s appointment. Landesman would succeed poet Dana Gioia in the position. Playwright Tony Kushner commented, “It’s potentially the best news the arts community in the United States has had since the birth of Walt Whitman. He’s an absolutely brilliant and brave and perfect choice for the job.”
