Empty Stores Now Art Projects
My Manhattan neighborhood is suddenly filled with empty storefronts — mostly mom-and-pop shops that couldn’t make it through the recession. London looked at a similar phenomenon there and came up with a solution: turn the stores, at least temporarily, into art projects. One of them is pictured here with Turner Contemporary curator Sarah Martin.
