Mirren: “Make Brothels Legal”
The Queen has spoken: according to The Sun, Helen Mirren thinks brothels should be legalized. The actress, who plays the owner of Nevada’s first legal brothel in the upcoming movie “Love Ranch,” insists regulating sex establishments will help keep prostitutes safe. She said: “It does make sense to me because when it’s illegal the girls get so abused. One of the worst things in our society is trafficking, I think it’s appalling.” Brothels are currently banned in many European countries and the majority of US states.
Helen previously revealed her husband Taylor Hackford, who directed the movie, was so keen for her to get into the role of Grace Botempo he forced her to spend a night in a brothel.
She then said: “Taylor grabbed me kicking and screaming to the brothel. He said, ‘You’ve got to do this! You’re going whether you like it or not.’ “
