Cannes: Ang Lee Getting Buzz
The new Brad Pitt movie, “Inglourious Basterds,” isn’t the only high-profile pic to be unspooled at next month’s Cannes Film Festival. Cannes will be swimming in other top talents and international filmmakers, as directors including Ang Lee, Jane Campion, Michael Haneke, Quentin Tarantino, Ken Loach, Pedro Almodovar, Bong Joon-ho, Marco Bellocchio, Lars von Trier and Johnnie To expect to square off for the Palme d’Or come May 13. I’m hearing more and more good things, by the way, about the Ang Lee movie, “Taking Woodstock,” starring Liev Schreiber, Emile Hirsch, and Jonathan Groff. A first-rate Ang Lee film? Quelle surprise!
