Tribeca Fest Injects Some Cheer
The organizers of the Tribeca Film Festival, which runs in New York from April 22 to May 3, are including more comedies and upbeat events this year, to counteract our recession-era gloom. If they wanted to lighten the mood for me and for many of my friends, they would hire friendlier folks to sell tickets and supervise the lines at participating cinemas. From a filmgoer’s perspective, the Tribeca Experience is too often teeth-gnashing.
