“Finian’s Rainbow” Moving To B’way
“Finian’s Rainbow,” which just had a successful five-performance semi-staged run at New York’s City Center, will be moving to Broadway’s St. James Theatre in the fall. The intention is to keep as much of the cast intact as possible — Kate Baldwin and Cheyenne Jackson (pictured) among them. This 1947 show, by Burton Lane and “Yip” Harburg, features such songs as “How Are Things In Glocca Morra” and “If This Isn’t Love.” The material was made into an unfortunate 1968 movie starring Petula Clark and Fred Astaire and directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
