Overweight Dating Served Up
Fox is creating a new reality dating show (there aren’t enough?) aimed at ‘average looking‘ people. What does that mean? “More To Lose” will be the dating show ‘for the rest of us’ featuring a buffet of overweight contestants chowing down on plates of forced true love. Are you sick yet? First of all, the glorification of the obesity epidemic is socially as pragmatic as the idea of stick-figure models portraying the feminine ideal: one promotes complacency, the other self-destruction. Both serve up enough poor self-image and obsession to feed most third world countries for the duration of the economic meltdown and beyond. Sigh, I think I need a Big Mac.
