Hollywood Pulls Plug on Actors Home
Its opening was attended by Ronald Reagan and Shirley Temple. Its residents over the years have included Norma Shearer and DeForest Kelley (Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy) of “Star Trek” fame. But the hospital and nursing facility of the Motion Picture Relief Fund, in Woodland Hills, California, is being closed after 60 years of operation, and some actors are hopping mad about the decision of the facility’s board, which includes Warren Beatty and Kevin Spacey.
