Nude Girls: Good; Nude Boys: Bad
When I saw the pictured spread of Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, and Jonah Hill in the new Vanity Fair, I thought: thank God they weren’t really naked. Looking at the photo this spread parodies — a naked Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson, with Tom Ford lurking — gave a little tingle; seeing these palookas nude, with Paul Rudd as the Ford figure — would not have. On the other hand, I can understand why many women (and, ahem, some guys) would find the double standard — girls have to be nude to make the VF cover, guys do not — silly. This viewpoint gets an airing here.
