The Broadcast So Far
Hugh Jackman is handsome but the writers aren’t giving him good comeback jokes (where’s Bruce Vilanch?). The broadcast’s High Concept — the assembly of all the elements of a movie — must have sounded better in the producers’ brainstorming sessions than it works in the event itself. So far, Steve Martin has got the most authentic laughs (say what you will about his Pink Panther, the man can be funny). James Franco‘s satirical, bromancey bit had moments. But God do I miss live performance.
