Why I Love Live Performance
According to the New York Post, a member of the lighting crew for “Speed-the-Plow” at Broadway’s Barrymore Theatre got an itchy trigger finger the other night. While William H. Macy and Raul Esparza (pictured) were finishing the final scene, a theatergoer reports, the lights went off, prompting the audience to erupt in applause. When the lights came back on, Esparza quipped, “Someone has been doing a little too much of this,” and imitated a pothead inhaling a marijuana joint. Macy then asked: “Can we do our last four lines? Where were we?” The do-over completed, Macy, Esparza, and co-star Elisabeth Moss received a standing ovation.
