Nottage’s “Ruined”: My Review
“Ruined,” a new play by Lynn Nottage about sexual violence in the Congo and starring Saidah Arrika Ekulona and Quincy Tyler Bernstine (pictured), opens tonight at Manhattan Theatre Club. When this production was at the Goodman, in Chicago, I reviewed it for the Financial Times. I can now say with confidence that it’s the strongest new American play I’ve seen this season.
