Fox Picks Up “Ab Fab” Pilot

68430-absolutely_fabulous_341x182Yes, you read that headline right: “Absolutely Fabulous,” the 1990s fashion-stuffed Brit-com that introduced “sweetie-darling,” and “Lacroix, darling” into the camp lexicon, is the basis for a new TV sitcom. Fox has given a go to a U.S. version of the cult British comedy about characters played by Jennifer Saunders, Julia Sawalha, and Joanna Lumley (pictured), who played: a neurotic fashion publicist, Edina; her sensible teen daughter, Saffron; and Edina’s best friend, fashion editor Patsy. You may remember that in the mid-1990s Roseanne Barr tried to get an American “Ab Fab” going, with Carrie Fisher and others, but nothing came of that.
