Raising Havoc With Baby June
The indefatigable Michael Musto has used the occasion of “Gypsy” closing on Broadway and the current revival of “Pal Joey” to give himself a refresher course in June Havoc (pictured here, left, with Julie Harris), who inspired “Gypsy”‘s Baby June character. Money quote, in reference to Havoc’s sister, Gypsy Rose Lee: ‘Gypsy loved the idea of the musical because it was a “monument” to her persona.
