“Anne Frank” Gets A Revision
“The Diary of Anne Frank” is the world’s best-selling book, after the Bible. A new TV adaptation doesn’t present the Dutch teenager (pictured) in a halo-ed light, however. Says the program’s producer: “”We didn’t want to make Anne saintly. She’s quite stroppy, opinionated, and very funny. Her diary speaks to us because she’s such a classic teenager.” Further: If Anne and her journal were around today, “she’d be writing it as a blog.”
