Harold Pinter Dies At 78
The Nobel literature laureate Harold Pinter (pictured) has died at the age of 78. He was generally considered one of the 20th century’s most influential playwrights, though, at the risk of turning this post into an “obitchuary,” I have to say that his work was responsible for many of my yawniest evenings in the theatre. No matter: the shadow he cast was vast, and here’s the first of many eloquent tributes that are sure to be pouring forth from the pens of admirers over the next few days.
