Jeremy Piven Mocked By CoStar
As I was walking the Broadway theatre district yesterday, I noticed that the marquee for David Mamet’s “Speed-the-Plow” still had the name of Jeremy Pivens (pictured) on it. As all the world by now knows, the “Entourage” actor abruptly departed the play last week, citing high levels of mercury in his blood. With all the bad publicity this has engendered — including a public reaming after yesterday’s matinee from Pivens’s co-star Raul Esparza — I’m surprised that the producers haven’t changed the marquee. I guess they are waiting until Norbert Leo Butz takes over for Piven tomorrow, or maybe until Mamet’s BFF, William H. Macy, takes over on January 13.
