Aretha To Sing At Inauguration
It’s thrilling that Aretha Franklin (pictured) has been selected to sing at Barack Obama’s swearing-in on January 20. And wonderful that poet Elizabeth Alexander and musicians Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Gabriela Montero, and Anthony McGill will also perform. But did Obama have to choose the Proposition 8 homophobe Rev. Rick Warren for the invocation? Is this a sign that Warren is going to be the Billy Graham of Obama’s administration? Distressing.
