Golden Globes Noms Named
The Golden Globe awards, which will be handed out January 11, were announced today. It was a good day for Meryl Streep (two noms) and a bad day for “Milk” (no Best Picture nom). As for the television noms, it was the Emmys all over again: much love for “Mad Men” and “30 Rock.” As for the poor showing of “Milk,” I suspect that it will do much better with the professional guild noms (DGA, SAG, producers), so its partisans should by no means despair yet for its Oscar chances, especially for Sean Penn.
