TV Dancing: Less Good Than Live
“Dancing with the Stars” crowns a new winner tonight (Brooke Burke, pictured, is the favorite). It would be easy to say that this type of program has given new life to dance in general. But: armchair dance audiences don’t necessarily translate into out-of-the-house dance audiences. And, as this article about Canadian dance points up, on TV “the dancing looks great, but there’s no emotional connection between performers and audience.”
