Nicole Kidman has been making the talk-circuit rounds, promoting her new flick, “Australia” (co-starring Hugh Jackman, with whom she is pictured). TV interviewers have been kind, mostly, but critics are another matter. Here’s one who wrote of Miss Kidman’s performance: She “drifts around films like a lost porcelain doll, looking frozen, brittle and vapid, staring at the camera with her oh-golly-look-how-I’m-looking-interesting blue eyes” and is “exquisitely accomplished at being awful.” Ouch.
