Obama Disrupts Oscar Noms!

Academy Awards expert Rex Okpodu tells me that, according to an Academy press release, “one notable change†for the 81st Academy Awards will be a shift of the nominations announcement from the traditional Tuesday to the following Thursday to avoid conflict with the January 20, 2009 presidential inauguration. Oh, great: now I’ll have to get up early twice that week — once to follow Obama’s path to the oath-taking, the other to hear the Oscar names.
