Another Serial Killer, Another Show
The only reason I can advance to explain the decision to turn “American Psycho” — Bret Easton Ellis‘s gory novel about a serial killer — into a musical is that a couple of potential backers looked at the grosses for the recent “Sweeney Todd” movie and said: “We can make some money off of that.” (I’m sure that the forces behind the current, ailing “Tale of Two Cities” show on Broadway used the same reasoning, substituting “Les Miz” for “Sweeney Todd.”)
