Oscar, We Have A Frontrunner
America loves nothing more than a comeback, and we’re about to get a huge one: Mickey Rourke (pictured). When I first reported a few weeks ago that insiders were buzzing about Rourke’s lead performance in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming movie “The Wrestler,” even I was skeptical. But mainstream reviews like this one from the Venice Film Festival are starting to trickle out, and it’s now official: Rourke is apparently wonderful. Flicks shows at Toronto fest later this month and at New York fest next month.
