Hadrian’s Movie Wall Coming Down
One of my favorite books (one of many people’s favorite books) is Marguerite Yourcenar’s “Memoirs of Hadrian.” There have been off-and-on plans for years to turn this story of a Roman emperor into a feature film. Now, the project seems to be coming together. Director John Boorman seems to have the financing in place. Shooting will begin next spring. Let’s hope and pray that the movie is better than another recent epic about an ancient warrior-leader, “Alexander.”
