No “Doubt” About Streep’s Career
Tomorrow night Meryl Streep will be given a starry tribute by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. In honor of the event, which comes in a year when La Streep is starring in the movie versions of “Mamma Mia” and “Doubt” (pictured, with Amy Adams), here’s a sampling of what Streep’s costars say is the experience of working with her. Most of the quotations are undilutedly kind, except for Cher, who said that Streep “is an acting machine in the same sense that a shark is a killing machine.”
