Whitney: Milking Goats for Art’s Sake
I dropped by the opening of the Whitney Museum’s 2008 Biennial last night, and I must say that most of the time, as I “experienced” the work on display, I felt like a Philistine. Much of it look like it was still in process— and I don’t mean that in a caring, sharing kind of way. I must say, however, that I did get a jolt out of Mika Rottenberg’s broken-down barn (pictured) in which you watch videos of milkmaids and goats.
