Oscar Show Going Great Guns
Now that the writers’ strike has been settled, the Academy Awards show is back on track. Here’s a list of the evening’s presenters so far. Academy president Sid Ganis said that, had the strike gone on, the broadcast would have been heavy on pre-recordings and light on star power. “It would have been the most exotic and interesting clip show in the history of TV,†he deadpanned. I’m sure I’m not the only person who would have preferred a crazy show of clips to the long and fairly boring show the Oscars usually are. (As long as there would still be a red carpet, of course.)
