Six months ago, the New York Post reported that “Farragut North,” Beau Willimon’s play about a young man who is a staff member for a Presidential candidate, would come to Broadway in a production directed by Mike Nichols and starring Jake Gyllenhaal (pictured). Four months ago, lemonwade told you that a Nichols-Gyllenhaal production was not going to happen. Today, Variety (and undoubtedly other media sources) caught up to what I told you in early October. New plans for the play on Broadway will include the director Doug Hughes, and an early-summer opening. And no Jake.
