Musical Theater 1, Super Bowl 0

It was thrilling last night to watch the New York Giants pull out a victory over the New England Patriots, and, given the last-minute drama of the game, it was no surprise that the TV ratings for the broadcast are expected to be massive, perhaps as many as 100 million viewers in the U.S. However, I have been reading stories all morning on the Internet that say that game may be the second-most watched TV broadcast of all time, and that makes me cross. Why? Because all these articles state that the most-watched broadcast is the 1983 finale of MASH, at 106 million viewers, and that the game last night will come in second. They wish! The 1957 broadcast of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical Cinderella, starring Julie Andrews, had 107 million viewers. Tell all your jock friends and relatives!
