Madonna Not Straight To Hell?
I don’t send out holiday cards, but if I did I might be tempted to appropriate this new artwork by the Spanish painter Lluis Barba, who earlier has just unveiled his updated version of Hieronymus Bosch’s “The Garden of Earthly Delights.” Painted in 1504, the Bosch contains three panels showing the Creation, Earth, and a mad-scary Hell. Barba’s version veatures artists, friends, and stars alongside Bosch’s original collection of the saved and the damned. His judgements can be controversial: Kate Moss is in Paradise while Madonna is consigned to the earthly sin part of the artwork. (I’m sure both women would merit Hell is some people’s minds.) A thumbnail version of Barba’s work is pictured; here’s a link to a grander reproduction.
