Gifford: No to “View,” Yes to Gay Bar

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Kathie Lee Gifford, who for years cohosted a morning talk show with Regis Philbin but who more recently has been concentrating on her musical-theater career (from both sides of the footlights), turned down an offer to be a regular on that other morning hen party known as “The View.” Here are the details. Meanwhile, there’s no word yet whether the musical “Saving Aimee,” Gifford’s long aborning (she did book and lyrics) show about evangelist/nymphomaniac Aimee Semple McPherson, will be coming to Broadway — or Des Moines — any time soon. One lives in hope.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Gifford also tells EW that she promises to appear at a New York gay bar to greet her fans sometime soon.
