Actresses: Must They All Bare All?
Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, sister of Jake, is starring in this provocative new campaign of London-based lingerie company Agent Provocateur. Earlier this week, Nicole Kidman “bared all” for the October Vanity Fair. Like most people, I like looking at hot pictures — of both sexes. But, even with all the actors who do shirtless cover shots and underwear ads, there’s still an inequality in what women must expose to have a Hollywood career and what men must do. A writer for The Guardian shares my unease in this article.

I will go one more step and say Academy Awards winning/former nominated stars really demean their sex and status by posing nude for magazine covers – it’s not like they really need the money or publicity?<br /><br /><br />
One of the cases in point is Nicole kidman. She has and will continue to be a huge star before and especially since she won her Oscar in 2002. Why exactly must she appear scantily clad like a wannabe starlet?<br /><br /><br />
Whilst on the subject, how about Djimon Hounsou? He is a two-time Oscar nominated star. Appearing in calvin klein adverts for underwear is hardly an upward career move — after all, Mark Wahlberg did that BEFORE he became a bonafide film star.<br /><br /><br />
So it seems there exists very strong level of sexism and racism in the Hollywood of 2007 – against women and people of color!</p></p></p>
