Manilow Cuts Rosie From Album

barry1.jpegrosie2.jpegOn my iPod I’ve got a section called “Not To Be Believed,” and for weeks I’ve reserved space there to download Barry Manilow‘s CD “The Greatest Songs of the 70s,” to be released September 18. But now comes the suicidally crushing news that the track Manilow recorded with Rosie O’Donnell — the Elton John/Kiki Dee standard “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” — has been cut from the album. Here’s the Billboard report about why this classic-in-the-making was jettisoned. Poor Rosie: first she’s replaced by a dogfighting-rationalizing Whoopi Goldberg on “The View,” and now she’s canned by the “Mandy” Man!
