First Grey Gardens, Now This!
Now that “Grey Gardens” has been turned into a Broadway musical and been discovered by the mainstream media, it’s time to find a new documentary about batty eccentrics. Here’s my candidate: a movie called “The Monastery: Mr. Vig & the Nun,” which opens today at Film Forum in New York. This Scandinavian picture focuses on a never-been-kissed 82-year-old curmudgeon (pictured at left) who invites the Russian Orthodox Church to turn his crumbling castle into a monastery.
