Mark Twain is Alive!
Reports of Mark Twain‘s death have not been greatly exaggerated.
Of his dramatic work, that is: Marylouise Burke (“Fuddy Meers”), Jenn Gambatese (“Tarzan”), Michael McGrath (“Monty Python’s Spamalot”) and David Pittu (“LoveMusik”) are among the actors joining star Norbert Leo Butz in “Is He Dead?” on Broadway this fall.
Butz stars as an artist who fakes his own death in the recently unearthed 1898 comedy by Mark Twain, which will be directed by Michael Blakemore (“Copenhagen”). David Ives (“All in the Timing”) adapts the script.
Also in the cast of 11 are John McMartin (“Grey Gardens”) and Byron Jennings (“Inherit the Wind”), among others.
“Is He Dead?” begins previews Nov. 8 at the Lyceum Theater, with an opening night set for Nov. 29.
